Enabling Linux on Chromebook
Currently we don’t have any Stremio application specifically for Chromebook but thankfully the Linux container on Chrome OS will help us to install and enjoy the Stremio app. Before that we need to enable Linux on Chromebook and here is how you can do that step by step.
- Open Settings
- Locate Linux (Beta) in the sidebar
- Click Turn on
- At the next window, click Next
- Give your Linux a username
- Decide how much space you want to dedicate from your internal storage to it (10 GB is recommended)
- Click Install
Now you have successfully enabled Linux on Chromebook, now you have the ability to install any Linux app on Chrome OS follow the next steps carefully to install Stremio.

How to Install Stremio on Chrome OS Using Linux
Once Linux is enabled on your Chromebook getting up and running with Stremio is extremely easy.
- Go to the Stremio website
- Download Stremio 4 beta / Linux 64bit .deb Debian package
- Open the Files app
- Locate the downloaded package
- Right-click and select Install with Linux (Beta)
- Click Install
