Redmi to launch first 64-megapixel camera smartphone

Redmi phone with 64MP camera in work : Samsung recently introduced the IISOCELL Bright GW1 64-megapixel camera sensor. There are reports that the Galaxy A70s can be introduced with this new sensor. However, now a new report has revealed that Xiaomi Redmi is also working on a 64-megapixel camera sensor, which can soon be introduced with the smartphone of the Redmi Series. Xiaomi may be the first OEM to present its smartphone with a 64-megapixel camera sensor. According to the leak report, before the global market, it can be offered in China market. It is expected that the 64-megapixel sensor will be introduced in Redmi Note 8. Would it be interesting to see if Samsung can offer the world’s first 64 megapixel smartphone before Xiaomi?

Samsung 64-megapixel sensor specifications and features

Samsung’s 64-megapixel ISOCELL Bright GW1 is the high-resolution sensor. It has a 0.8-micrometer (μm) pixel image sensor. Samsung has used Tetracell technology for pixel-merging and remosaic algorithm, so that 16 megapixel images can be produced in low light environments. This sensor helps in pulling high-quality 64-megapixel shots in a much better condition.

The Bright GW1 sensor features Dual Conversion Gain (DCG). It converts the receiver light into electric signal. This sensor supports real-time HDR 100-decibel. This sensor phase detection supports auto focus. According to the video front, it records full-HD recording 480 frames-per-second (FPS). This sensor also supports cinematic slow-motion video capture.

The Bright GW1 sensor is just a sample. It can be produced at a bigger level in the second half of 2019. Samsung can present its smartphone with this sensor by the end of the year. Samsung has already developed the 48-megapixel ISOCELL GM1 sensor, which many smart phone companies are using in their mobile.
