The Beginner Setup: Installing Node.js Version from Windows
Often the local machine does not come with it by default Node.js installation, so for them here’s the initial setup guide. (Note: those devices with node.js already set up you may ignore the procedure )
Step 1. Visit the official website of node.js and from there download the windows installer package.
Step 2. Then you have to install the .msi binary files by double tapping on it. You can then run the application.
Step 3. Tap next to the displayed welcome message. Followed by that you have to pick up the desired path.
Step 4. On the arrived page, tap on the next button to get a custom setup page.
Step 5. For Node and NPM simultaneously, pick the npm package manager.
Step 6. Once the npm pack manager is installed verify it with the common prompt.
How to Check Node.js on Windows?
Step 1. Once you complete the download process, launch the installer. Then access the directory where different download files are stored.
Step 2. You will be notified whether you think of running the software before confirming to run it.
Step 3. Soon you will enter the node.js setup wizard, and tap on next.
Step 4. Accept the license and then tap next once you agree to the terms and conditions. Now, install the software.
Step 5. Turn on the location and tap next
Step 6. Check the components you want and do not wish to include and tap on next.
Step 7. Once done click install to run the installer and then finish it. From the command prompt, you can verify the installed version.

How to Check Node.js Version on Linux
For this, you first have to install a distribution and we chose Ubuntu in that case. Inside Ubuntu, the repository installs node.js under the given instruction.
Step 1. Press ctrl+alt+t from your desktop and input in terminal the following command –
$ sudo apt install nodejs.
Step 2. Once you install node.js, you can use the following command to verify the version of the node you just installed.
$ node-version or node-v
Step 3. You should install node.js with the node package manager (npm). Using npm you can access the open-source node.js package library. For installing npm, use the command.
$ sudo apt install npm
Way of Verifying Node.js Version on Mac
To install Node.js on Mac OS follow the instructions –
Step 1. Visit the official node.js download page and select Mac OS.
Step 2. You have to run the downloaded version of Nodes.js.pkg
Step 3. If the downloading is finished, then run the installer after accepting all the included terms and conditions.
Step 4. To do the operation tap on install.
Step 5. After the installation is complete, locate the node.js version on your device.

$ node -v
